The central building is the 6-storey New Secondary School (incl. basement). The new gym and a cafeteria, as well as the regional music school, the music association and the local symphony orchestra are located in the he adjoining buildings.<\/p>\n<p>The supporting structure of the main building is characterised by a support system with individual wall sections and an internal core that is largely independent of the room layout. The floor slabs were designed as flat slabs, with column head reinforcements made of steel mushrooms integrated into the slabs. The main staircase was constructed as a steel-concrete composite structure.<\/p>\n<p>The other two buildings were mainly constructed of reinforced concrete too. The roof of the new gymnasium consists of steel girders in combination with cross-laminated timber panels. In the music school composite steel-concrete girders were used in the area of large spans.<\/p>\n<p>The courtyard roofs, which are located between the buildings, are designed as independent load-bearing structures in order to avoid forced loads from settlement differences or temperature expansions. The supporting system of the canopies consists of inclined composite columns with a reinforced concrete slab as roof.
