The chemical building, which dates back to the sixties, was extensively renovated in order to integrate the Biomedical Engineering of Graz University of Technology
For the planned conversion measures, the load-bearing core structure remains unaffected except for a few local construction measures.
The main construction measures can be summarized as follows:
• Moving two bracing walls
• Underpass Escape stairs upstairs 4
• Construction of a mezzanine floor in the library on the ground floor (gallery)
• New construction of the floor slab in the basement
• New construction of the lift including ceilings
• Replacement of various existing supports and component carriers
• Fire protection certificate of the existing supports
• Various underpinning measures for breakthroughs
• Rehabilitation and reinforcement of various steel structures
• The top floor with restaurant use, the information center, the forecourt and the gallery in the library have been rebuilt
