The ZWT offers at this central location research institutes, laboratories and companies with around 800 new jobs for the medicine of tomorrow.
The vertical loads are supported by reinforced concrete columns in the building as well as on reinforced concrete walls. Furthermore, the walls of the cores carry vertical loads. Above the 1st floor, in the office wing of the ZWT, there is a load-distributing slab which leads the loads from the floors above to the underlying inclined composite columns. In the laboratory section, the loads in the side areas are supported by a load-distributing plate, in the central area between the stairwell cores via beams.
The building is stabilized via the two internal cores.
Office tract and laboratory tract are each executed without construction joints.
