With the Production Technology Centre and a kindergarten (so called house of the child) TU Graz expanded its campus with four buildings on the so called Inffeldgründe. The new Centre is a hub for science and industry.

The four new buildings in this project are multi-storey buildings with basements. The layout required a load-bearing system that allows flexibility in the room layout of the different floors. For this reason, a support system with some reinforced concrete slabs was chosen for horizontal load transfer. The floor slabs are designed as flat plates, which results in soffits withou beams. Due to the existing soil conditions deep foundation using large bored piles was necessary.
