Elementary School Gleisdorf – Expansion

The elementary school Gleisdorf was extended by a three-storey new building, which is located on the top of the existing sports hall. Two-story trusses enable a very open-plan auditorium on the ground floor. Therefore, the existing gymnasium ceiling had to be adapted. In order to transfer the loads through the gymnasium into the building ground, steel supports were drawn in and the base plate was reinforced.

In addition, there were various adaptations of the existing buildings necessary, such as the creation of new openings due to the merging of rooms, the closing of existing ceiling openings or the redesign of the courtyard including the vestibule.

Since the school operation had to be continued, the project was characterized by a short planning time and a construction period of only a few months.
