The construction of a publicly accessible bridge for pedestrians links the IST Campus and the IST Park across the B14 federal road in Maria Gugging (Klosterneuburg).
The pedestrian bridge is designed as a three-dimensionally curved steel structure and consists of a deck bridge and a ramp running beneath it. The two bridges merge into a joint structure in the area of the western abutment. The maximum free span of the deck bridge is approx. 45 metres.
The bridges cross-section is trough-shaped designed as a closed steel box consisting of thin, stiffened plates. The short end fields on the shared abutment and on the abutment of the ramp ensure that economic restraint is achieved. The resulting flow of forces is reflected in the architectural design.
